The Department of Children and Youth (DCY) is seeking a professional to manage constituent inquiries and support policy compliance across child-serving programs statewide, serving as a key liaison between the public, government officials, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of child welfare and early care policies.
- Proficiency with data systems and reporting tools.
- Experience with computer hardware & software used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis, graphics presentation & word processing.
- Knowledge of research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling.
- Experience with SACWIS, OCLQS, Ohio Benefits, and DCY databases.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and respond professionally to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries and complaints from constituents, legislators, the Governor’s Office, and child-serving agencies.
- Provide program information and interpret laws, regulations, and eligibility policies.
- Research and resolve case-specific issues using systems like SACWIS, OCLQS, Ohio Benefits, and DCY databases.
- Track and analyze inquiries using a statewide call tracking system.
- Identify and address policy or implementation gaps; recommend procedural improvements.
- Refer individuals to appropriate services and community resources.
- Prepare reports on inquiry trends, corrective actions, and program compliance.
Other
- Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science, health services public administration, public policy management or comparable field;
- 36 mos. exp. in researching, developing or implementing policies related to social services, health services, public policy or comparable field;
- Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation or in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must undergo a criminal background check.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
