The City of Charlotte is looking to develop and maintain strategic plans, system designs, and other architectural artifacts needed to select and implement technologies that are required to align IT infrastructure, systems and investments with business needs.

Responsibilities
- Defines technology roadmaps by studying current & future states of technology / business
- Develops technology standards & models by working with technology / business partners to identify best practices for the City of Charlotte
- Produce technology proposals: cost estimates, staffing impacts, implementation timelines, risk assessments, cost & benefit analyses, articulation of impact on business goals
- Guides technology investment by contributing to language in departments’ technology solicitations: technical requirements, architecture diagrams, etc.
- Develops architectural descriptions & designs for needed solutions Understanding of presented business requirements
- Conducting meetings with stakeholders, Analyzing current & potential technical requirements, Researching vendor offerings / market trends / independent analyses
- Completes other related tasks by facilitating discussions, Communicating potential technology solutions, Serving as translation source between businesses & technological needs & gaining individual business understanding
Other
- Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems / Computer Science / Business Administration / Public Administration / directly related field with three (3) years of relevant experience
- Strong team building & facilitation skills
- Ability to quickly understand the City’s business
- Strong customer service skills
