The business problem is to modernize an existing legacy Core Banking system by breaking down the RPG code base into a service-oriented architecture, making it more consumable by other applications and third parties.
Requirements
- 8 - 10 yrs. of experience in IBM iSeries V7R1 systems
- Excellent RPG coding experience.
- Good in iSeries/DB2 knowledge and RDBMS skills
- Strong in service oriented architecture (SOA) concepts.
- Well aware of version control system in RPG using knowledge on turnover.
- Knowledge in US Core Banking.
Responsibilities
- Understand the client’s existing RPG code base and work to break it into service oriented programming to make it consumable to other applications and third parties.
- Follow the architecture established, and also recommend the improvements.
- Analyze the existing legacy Core Banking system.

- Well acquainted with Agile scrum.
- Client interaction on technology and domain knowledge clarifications.
- Mentor a team to spread the knowledge gathered and help in slowly building a team with solid knowledge base.
