GM Human Interface Design - Vehicle Studio is looking for an experienced Designer to drive consistency, quality, and scalability across brand experiences by managing UI libraries, supporting designers, and collaborating cross-functionally. This role serves as a bridge between brand-specific needs and governance standards, ensuring that design execution aligns with system-wide principles while maintaining brand integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining design systems in Figma, including component architecture, variants, and documentation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure design-to-code alignment.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage UI libraries and templates.
  • Ensure UI components are scalable across programs, regions, and display scopes.
  • Communicate library updates and changes to relevant teams.
  • Review new features and resources with designers to ensure quality and consistency in execution.
  • Flag and resolve deviations from design system standards in collaboration with governance.
  • Champion UI excellence and advocate for high-quality delivery and implementation.
  • Take a big-picture view to identify consistency gaps across apps, patterns, and design language.

  • This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.
  • This job is eligible for relocation benefits.
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or design systems.
  • Formal training on degree in Interface Design, Visual Design or related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across disciplines.
