Whirlpool Corporation is seeking an Industrial Engineering Manager to provide overall leadership in setting Engineering strategy and technical direction for Cleveland's Industrial Engineering team, aiming to improve life at home through efficient manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing industrial engineering and process development
- Have used MODAPTS to determine required labor levels for current and future products.
- Experience in setting time standards and labor levels in Assembly and Backshop processes (Stamping, Cavity Fabrication, CNC Fabrication, and Finishing)
- Have conducted ergonomic studies and implemented solutions to reduce ergonomic risks
- Demonstrated ability to drive lean manufacturing initiatives (i.e., World Class Manufacturing).
- Experience as Workplace Organization (WO) pillar leader and/or WCM site lead
- Proplanner Manufacturing Data Management for the Product Lifecycle software (PLM-MDM)
Responsibilities
- Develop plans and drive actions to improve labor efficiencies and eliminate non-value added activities.
- Lead production line rate increases and shift additions to reduce backorders.
- Drive World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies and champion the concept of ‘Zero’ to eliminate plant losses in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.
- This role functions as the site lead for World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and is also responsible for leading Workplace Integration (WPI) within the WCM framework.
- Manage cost by monitoring and reducing controllable spend and overtime. Drive Kaizen projects that reduce losses in cost and improve efficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement in the organizational, technical and business information processes/systems through lean/innovative thinking/ideas
- Partner with product development teams to: ensure the right technology and processes to support new products and drive seamless product launches

- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management
