Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) needs to build and support essential infrastructure and services that power production workflows across ILM’s global studios. The Core Pipeline department is responsible for render farm management software, data synchronization platforms, media creation pipelines, and storage backup & archival systems, ensuring the backbone of ILM’s technical operations is innovative, robust, and efficient for artists and developers company-wide.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems
- Experience with Python programming; familiarity with distributed systems a plus
- Knowledge of Python-based web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) or ReactJS for UI development
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, redis, or similar data store technologies
- Familiarity with virtualization and containerization tools (e.g., VMware, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of deployment and CI tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins)
- Interest or experience in film, video post-production, or computer graphics
Responsibilities
- Develop systems to improve monitoring of critical production services and tools
- Implement user interfaces (UIs) to optimize production and artist workflows
- Create APIs for centralized, cross-studio access to core services
- Build tools and services for the Core Pipeline team used throughout ILM
- Contribute to ongoing operational tasks, such as troubleshooting and bug fixes
