Principal is seeking an Information Security Engineer Intern to work on real projects within their Technology & Engineering internship program, focusing on enhancing information security across various teams such as Cyber Defense Operations, GRC, Identity and Access Management, Insider Risk, and Data Protection.

Requirements

  • Interest in and/or experience with info security technologies/tooling/concepts.
  • Technical experience with Development Languages.
  • Technical experience with Automation tooling.
  • Technical experience with DevOps or Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with NIST security standards and frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Work on real projects collaborating with a range of team members, including other interns through senior level management.
  • Operate in an Agile team environment and be assigned a formal leader and mentor.
  • Support the Cyber defense operations team in monitoring for and analyzing potential threats and vulnerabilities in Principal’s network and applications.
  • Assist the GRC teams in developing and enforcing new security policies and standards.
  • Support the Identity and access management teams in building and supporting enterprise authentication and access management solutions.
  • Work with the Insider Risk team to correlate user activity of specific policy violations to identify Insider Threats.
  • Assist the Data protection teams in ensuring data is transmitted and stored securely across all systems and access methods.

Other

  • You are currently pursuing or have completed an undergraduate degree program in a preferred science, technology, engineering, or math-related field of study.
  • You are involved in student organizations on your respective campus, within the community or have prior internship experience.
  • You have exceptional communication and organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
  • You have a passion for technology which includes: Technical curiosity, Ability to think critically and solution for technology-based problems.
  • Leadership positions within student, work or community organizations.
