Stifel is looking for an Information Systems Intern to support their functional areas by performing administrative duties, contributing to projects, and developing an understanding of the business, data models, and development technology.

Requirements

  • Experience with development technologies such as C-Sharp/.NET, or relevant Java/C++, JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Angular, jQuery), python
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL preferred.
  • Exposure to C-Sharp/.NET, or relevant Java/C++ or equivalent relational database systems
  • Experience with JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Angular, jQuery)
  • Introductory development skills and desire to learn.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning when assessing business requirements
  • Ability to take a problem and research it from beginning to end creating detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Development team in various phases of development, including design, implementation, integration and revision control.
  • Perform limited due diligence to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Gain an understanding of company applications and business practices in the context of how they affect the customer and the business process.
  • Research best practices and supports developing the solutions and recommendations for the business areas as identified.
  • Field inbound requests from business users and product management and refine requirements until a full understanding is reached on the process being analyzed.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning when assessing business requirements
  • Develop an understanding of the Stifel business, data models and development technology.

Other

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business with at least one year of college completed preferred.
  • Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software such as Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Drive applications preferred.
  • Basic understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on using logic, reasoning, and data to identify complex relationships as well as to research and discuss recommended uses.
  • Work according to standards and practices set by Project and Development managers or senior team members.
