Duke Energy is looking for IT interns to gain on-the-job experience and exposure to various IT areas such as software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cloud engineering to help drive their mission to build a smarter energy future and transition to net-zero emissions.
Requirements
- Enrolled and pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in an IT or Engineering related major, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
- Knowledge of programming languages, operating systems and computer networks
- Familiarity with Angular (or other JavaScript based framework), Java, Python and private and/or public cloud (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure, AWS, etc.) environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Infrastructure as Code, Networking, Data Center Infrastructure
- Familiarity with relational databases and query authoring (SQL)
- Familiarity with the Agile Methodology

- Must not graduate prior to August 2026
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Previous internship experience
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Exhibits a willingness to learn and growth mindset
