General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking to develop and deploy computer-aided automation tools to maximize net savings, support inner workings of data and business systems, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, gather and document requirements for changes to business systems, manage IT projects, plan and procure software and hardware, and provide user support for design and engineering tools.

Responsibilities
- Requirement analysis and design for software application.
- Development of software applications (typically Java applications).
- Testing and maintenance of various software applications.
- Investigation of advanced IT and software development technology
- develop automated CAD views, labels and dimensions, design and manufacturing interfaces, rules based automations, etc
- supports the inner workings of Electric Boat data and business systems(Networks/Servers/Desktop/Storage) in a fast paced defense environment.
- will help monitor all systems for vulnerabilities and either repair the vulnerabilities or develop remediation plans for them when necessary.
Other
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- US citizenship is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
- Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
- At minimum students must have completed their Freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2026 to September 2026.
- Selected candidates will be responsible for establishing housing and reliable transportation for the duration of their intern assignment.
