AEP is looking to solve infrastructure technology problems, including installation, deployment, and ongoing support of Enterprise Splunk Services, to power over 5 million homes and businesses across 11 states.
Requirements
- Installation, configuration management, data integration and transformation, field extraction, and application management of Splunk platform.
- Diagnostic testing and troubleshooting Splunk indexers, search heads, heavy forwarders and forwarder issues.
- Designing core scripts to automate Splunk alerts for routine maintenance and tasks.
- Design and implementation of Splunk Universal Forwarder deployment, configuration, and maintenance for Linux and Windows.
- Implementation of Cribl toolset.
- Using Cribl for data management in large distributed systems.
- Designing and developing Cribl packs to support data sources including syslog, VMWare, Windows, and Palo-Alto.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high quality infrastructure technology solutions, including installation, deployment and ongoing support of Enterprise Splunk Services.
- Serve as lead architect for Enterprise Splunk tool and manage the entire Splunk environment, including servers, application, access control, and functions.
- Manage implementation of a large, multi-site installation of Enterprise Splunk Services.
- Plan, research, revaluate, design and analyze performance of complex infrastructure systems.
- Provide advanced level technical support and analysis, operations, administration and troubleshooting activities.
- Mentor and provide functional/technical leadership and work direction to staff.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8 years of experience in Splunk platform
- Ability to work from an approved work location
- Willingness to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
