Insomniac is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help shape the technology powering some of the world’s biggest live experiences. You’ll design and build backend systems that support e-commerce, ticketing, and fan engagement, while working closely with our internal and offshore teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Go (required)
- Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven systems
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and SQL databases (Postgres preferred)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Linux/Unix)
- Experience writing automated tests (unit tests, integration tests, browser / E2E) (required)
- Fluent in Git workflow (branching, merging, tagging, cherry picking)
- Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes for orchestration and Redis for caching
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Go.
- Design and optimize APIs (REST & GraphQL) to support apps and websites.
- Integrate and manage third-party services (Stripe, Braintree, Cloudflare, etc.).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems with modern observability tools.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable and innovative solutions.
Other
- 5+ years as a backend engineer in e-commerce or related industries
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Bonus: Experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries
- Bonus: Experience configuring and managing Cloudflare services, including DNS, CDN, caching, and security features
