Ameresco is looking for an Instrument and Controls Engineering Manager to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems for their renewable natural gas, natural gas generation, and CHP projects, aiming to reduce costs, enhance resilience, and decarbonize to net zero.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering.
  • Experienced with schematic wiring diagrams, SCADA systems, DCS, and other control system technologies.
  • Strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in the selection, configuration, and integration of control systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS.
  • Ensure the quality and reliability of instrumentation and control systems through rigorous testing, validation, and commissioning processes.
  • Coordinate and occasionally participate in control system checkout and commissioning at fabrication shops and new project construction sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Ensure all instrumentation and control systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and integration of control systems.

Other

  • Lead and manage the Instrument and Controls Engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure project success and professional development.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering solutions.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in managing large-scale engineering projects, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget is required.
