ENERCON is seeking an I&C Design Engineering Manager to support Power Uprate initiatives within their Nuclear Services Group, aiming to increase reactor output and optimize performance at nuclear facilities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in design engineering in power generation or nuclear power with at least 2 of those years of experience as a group lead or supervisor
- Professional Engineering License is required
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Proven experience with a high level of decision making, directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by others
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant
Responsibilities
- Approve designs
- Certify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirements.
- Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter Expert
- Approve engineering documents produced by the unit.
- Lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMs.
- Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coaching.
- Promote professional development of staff (e.g., professional license, certifications, training, mentoring, and client qualifications)
Other
- Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PMs), and other internal constituents.
- Direct/assign work to the unit to balance activities between work groups and individuals.
- Approve timesheets and expense reports.
- Conduct unit’s annual performance appraisals.
- Support management in recruiting new employees
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style
- Required to travel up to 15 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings
