Koch Fertilizer is looking to solve equipment reliability and minimize downtime issues through the implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance activities

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a technical associate degree (Industrial Controls, Electrical Maintenance, or related field preferred)
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Familiarity with electrical systems such as Switchgear, Motor Starters, MCCs, VFDs, Soft Starters, and 4,160-volt and 480-volt three-phase systems
  • Understanding of process instrumentation and analyzers, including Pressure, Level, Flow, Temperature, pH, Conductivity, and ORP systems
  • Ability to interpret and analyze key technical documents, including electrical schematics, loop drawings, dimensional layouts, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Experience with industry-standard tools and processes
  • Basic knowledge of control systems and instrumentation

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Strategy Implementation: Partner closely with our technicians to execute predictive and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Learn Process Instrumentation: Expand your knowledge by working with advanced instrumentation and analyzers, including Pressure, Level, Flow, Temperature, pH, Conductivity, and ORP systems.
  • Dive Into Control Systems: Assist with the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair of final control elements, and participate in stroke testing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop Your Technical Expertise: Learn to interpret and analyze key technical documents, including electrical schematics, loop drawings, dimensional layouts, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Explore High-Powered Systems: Build practical knowledge of electrical systems such as Switchgear, Motor Starters, MCCs, VFDs, Soft Starters, and 4,160-volt and 480-volt three-phase systems.
  • Be Part of Commissioning & Start-Up: Engage in critical activities like instrument loop inspections, configuration, calibration, loop checks, and function testing that bring complex systems to life.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Work closely with a supportive team of professionals who are invested in helping you succeed.

  • Eligible for full-time employment by graduation date
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
  • Willing and able to meet all physical requirements, including ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing straight ladders
  • Ability to wear industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required
  • Confined space entry may be required
