Sargent & Lundy's Energy & Industrial Group is looking to support industry-leading projects in power generation, plant design, environmental compliance, mid/downstream oil & gas, and multi-disciplined industrial projects, and is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern to assist in the execution of project work.
Requirements
- Must have an expected graduation date in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027 toward a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineer from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background and coursework in electrical and controls power concepts and AC power systems analysis.
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology, including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design.
Responsibilities
- As an Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work.
- These projects may involve the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to existing power plant systems, components, and distribution engineering projects.
- Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Electrical/I&C Engineering in one or more of the following areas:
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and designs
- Be involved in electric power equipment document reviews
