Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Intern to assist engineering teams in the design, modification, and upgrade of power plant systems, components, and structures, integrating electrical, mechanical engineering, and control theory to improve the functionality of nuclear power plants.
Requirements
- Coursework in analog and digital control systems
- Enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is preferred
- Coursework and/or experience in mechatronics and/or robotics
- An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and technology, including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data
Other
- Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred
