GM Defense (GMD) is a dynamic growth business within General Motors. Within GMD, the Integrated Product Support (IPS) organization ensures our customers receive world-class aftermarket support. The IPS team is accountable to ensure that our products are designed and developed with supporting documentation and products to be sustainable throughout their entire lifecycle. We are hiring an Integrated Product Support Assistant Project Manager to work closely with multiple Program Managers to plan and oversee the execution of all IPS tasks and projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and within scope.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experiences in Defense, Integrated Product Support or Aftersales
  • Experience in leading program/project management in an engineering, quality or logistics position
  • Understanding of project management and vehicle sustainment
  • Previous experience with government contracted programs is required: (Preferred experience with Department of Defense (DOD)/Department of State (DOS))
  • Familiarity with DoD/defense program environments and standards.
  • Experience with DoD Engineering Change Process and/or Army Logistics Provisioning Processes
  • Familiar with the commercial SX000i Integrated Product Support and related S-Serries Logistics Specifications

Responsibilities

  • Review contract requirements to break down and define project goals, objectives, and scope using work breakdown structure (WBS) construct .
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and budgets.
  • Assign tasks and work within the department to allocate resources effectively.
  • Assemble and lead the team.
  • Oversee project execution and ensure tasks are completed.
  • Monitor progress and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and assess potential project risks.

Other

  • Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan or Milford, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Commercial/Government training in related disciplines.
  • Ability to define processes within a lean organization
  • Passion for understanding the customer needs and delivering an exceptional product
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to comfortably interface with all levels of GM and Government Leadership
