The Interior Designer role is crucial in translating client needs and architectural direction into cohesive interior design solutions for projects, particularly in K-12, Higher Education, Workplace, and R+D environments.

Requirements

  • Requires strong skilled comprehension in Revit.
  • Requires comprehension in Enscape, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign; prefers experience with SketchUp, Newforma, Bluebeam, and most recent modeling software.
  • Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building programs.
  • Knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards are expected.
  • Understanding of all phases of Interior Design document production.
  • General understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of taking on the primary role in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, studies, and other visual formats.
  • Works directly with Senior Interior Designer and/or team in development of designs, presentations, and documentation.
  • Develops space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with project program.
  • Conceptualizes and develops interior design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, budget, and program.
  • Prepares and revises documentation in various project phases to support design intent.
  • Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of interiors, their components and information for Construction Documentation.
  • Assists in the evaluation and selection of interior systems and materials.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field is required.
  • Minimum of seven years related experience is required.
  • Passionate about designing K-12 and Higher education, Workplace, and R+D environments.
  • Ambitious ‘self-starter’ ready for career growth opportunities, challenges, and learning opportunities.
  • Team player including sharing knowledge and pitching in for deadlines when needed.
