Ketel Thorstenson, LLP is looking to solve the problem of providing hands-on experience in audit, tax, or accounting services to interns, while also addressing the firm's need for skilled professionals in these areas.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A major in Accounting or a similar field such as Finance or Business
- A major in Accounting
- Must have completed Intermediate Accounting 1
- Plans to pursue the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
- Plans to pursue the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification.
- Proficiency in tax and/or accounting software
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of accounting.
- Develop proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, tax and/or accounting software, and other applications relevant to job requirements.
- Review and organize financial documents and ensure accuracy in data entry
- Maintain general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliation for all accounts; verify accuracy of bank statements and work with staff to resolve questions or problems; maintain integrity of cash balances and cash flow systems.
- Draft financial statements under the firm’s prescribed format.
- Prepare individual income tax returns with training and assistance.
