BioMarin Global Data Science (GDS) is responsible for designing, capturing, analyzing, and presenting data that can drive key decisions for Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and other business areas of BioMarin. The GDS Data Management Science (DMS) group contributes to Global Data Science by providing complete, correct, and consistent analyzable data at data, data structure and documentation levels following international standards and GCP. The Data Quality Innovation (DQI) group within DMS are responsible for driving seamless data flow, quality by design, centralized monitoring and innovation. This intern position will join a group of data scientists and subject matter experts within DMS to develop AI powered solutions in various areas, including creation of the first draft of specification documents used the Study Build process and generation of testing data and scripts. This intern position will also provide programming support to standardization of CRFs.

Requirements

  • Experience in AI and machine learning models.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python for data analysis and data wrangling.
  • Proficient in Python programming.
  • Experience in NLP and predictive modeling/extrapolation methodologies.
  • Experience using LLM and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of AI applications in drug research and development.
  • Prepare training data (documents) needed for model building or prompt engineering.
  • Develop workflows and prompts in OpenAI services.
  • Write Python code for various applications.
  • programming support to standardization of CRFs.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Master level degree candidate or a rising senior working towards a bachelor’s degree; in a quantitative discipline (e.g., computer science, data science, statistics, or similar), or another scientific degree from accredited University.
