Howmet Aerospace is looking for an Intern – Artificial Intelligence (IT) to tackle real-world challenges through impactful assignments and work alongside industry changemakers, contributing to engineered solutions that advance the world through the aerospace, automotive, defense and commercial transportation industries.
Requirements
- Hands On work with Python, OCI, and Azure
- Analysis, design, system development, and life-cycle methodologies
- Translate customer business requirements into technical solutions identifying key deliverables
- Project experience with security tools or procedures
- Previous reporting writing experience
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other developers/data scientists to develop, test, and deploy AI models.
- Work on data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training tasks
- Perform exploratory data analysis of business and manufacturing process data to uncover insights and relationships
- Learn how to assess technology to select the best AI solution for each use case
- Conduct research on recent advancements in AI/ML and provide insights to the team and leadership
- Write and maintain clear documentation of models, experiments, and code.
- Participate in the development, implementation and deployment of new systems, new information technologies, and information solutions
Other
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or other related IT field with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
- A willingness to learn and take initiative to understand the business
- Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
