Lumen is looking to extend Black Lotus Lab's ability to help find threats on the Internet leveraging their large source of network data, and the intern will work on writing code to identify vulnerable services or other types of similar infrastructure within their data sets and threats that may be abusing them.
Requirements
- Experience in Python/C/C++/Java/Scala
- Experience with MySQL, Postgresql, or similar database
- Experience with source code control tools such as git or SVN
- Networking and Internet technologies
- Previous experience working in big data and/or information security
- Experience with Spark, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, or other similar technologies
Responsibilities
- Participating in peer code reviews to improve the quality of code written by other team members
- Debugging computer code to fix errors and improve performance
- Building test scenarios and test cases
- Analyzing data to identify trends and formulate solutions
- Document the components and/or views properly
- Helping write code that identify vulnerable services or other types of similar infrastructure within our data sets and threats that may be abusing them
Other
- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
- Graduating August 2026 – May 2028
- US Work Authorization required for this role
- Available to work full time (40 hours/week) during the 10-week program
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science or related field
