Consumers Energy is looking to support the organization's data science capabilities by hiring an Intern Data Scientist to collaborate with the data science team and business stakeholders to establish requirements and data requests for analytics projects, understand business needs, and generate actionable insights.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of data modeling, machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, data visualization, and data engineering.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to evaluate, select, build, train, and apply the most effective modeling approaches using data science theory.
- Communicate data science outputs and support the development of models and solutions that provide insights for business interpretation and execution.
- Support analytics initiatives from ideation through production and adoption, with an understanding of the analytics lifecycle and common pitfalls.

- This position is onsite a minimum of three days per week at our corporate headquarters in Jackson, MI.
- The selected candidate must be within commutable distance or willing to relocate (a relocation package is available for those who qualify).
- The interview process for this position will consist of both a panel interview and a technical assessment.

- Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position and work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
