The AES Corporation is looking to solve problems related to electric infrastructure projects, data management for electrical assets, and financial modeling for projects to support the global energy revolution and decarbonization efforts.

Requirements

  • Create and maintain electrical models using power flow software such as PSSE and CYME.
  • Utilize Management of Change and Asset Governance processes for controlling the modification of equipment, systems, and processes
  • Participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) for significant T&D equipment failures
  • Support development and updates to Asset Life Cycle Plans (ALCP) for critical asset classes
  • Use industry leading software to study potential problems on the electrical grid and proactively propose solutions

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers on a variety of electric infrastructure projects designing future state distribution and transmission power system
  • Develop unique solutions to gather, store, and utilize electrical asset data implemented and collected in the field to improve data driven decision making.
  • Create and maintain electrical models using power flow software such as PSSE and CYME.
  • Utilize Management of Change and Asset Governance processes for controlling the modification of equipment, systems, and processes
  • Participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) for significant T&D equipment failures
  • Support development and updates to Asset Life Cycle Plans (ALCP) for critical asset classes
  • Use industry leading software to study potential problems on the electrical grid and proactively propose solutions

Other

  • Create scope of work documents, cost estimates, and schedules for assigned projects engaging engineering and other SMEs as required.
  • Work with AES engineering and finance teams to build the project business cases using financial modeling tools.
  • Validate project financial data submitted to the annual budget review process.
  • Manage the budget for assigned T&D annual investment programs.
  • Work in an Agile, collaborative environment partnering with technicians, engineers, regulatory experts and businesspeople of all backgrounds and disciplines to solve complex problems
  • Attend site visits to substations or other engineering sites to verify electric facilities through field research and learn about complex T&D systems
  • Participate in formalized AES-specific learning opportunities to further your knowledge and understanding towards accelerating the responsible energy transition
  • Network with peers, AES leaders, and other like-minded employees in dedicated events, lunch and learn and speaker series’
  • Actively engage in open discussions to identify ways the company can improve to be better prepared for the future of the energy world
