Marathon Petroleum Company is looking to solve the problem of developing and utilizing the skills of Electrical Engineers in a refinery setting to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of their operations.
Requirements
- majoring in Electrical Engineering
- strong academic performance
- knowledge of industry codes and best practices
- critical thinking skills
- understanding of how all engineering disciplines work together as a cohesive team
- experience with electrical analysis software
- knowledge of Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Responsibilities
- work on a variety of real-world electrical and instrumentation projects in a refinery setting
- develop and utilize project management skills including scope alignment, cost and schedule development, and teamwork through multiple engineering phases
- support the area teams
- troubleshoot Electrical & Instrumentation issues at the refinery
- analyze failures of equipment, develop solutions for recurring equipment difficulties, submit Project Request Forms (PRF’s) to implement solutions
- use electrical analysis software to solve coordination issues and run Arc Flash studies for the power system
- learn and understand about how critical Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are applied
Other
- authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
- availability for multiple work terms is preferred
- a valid driver's license is required
- concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program
- military experience a plus
