Prairie State Generating Company is looking for a college student to assist with communications within the energy industry
Requirements
- Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understand operating procedures
- Ability to work unsupervised as required
Responsibilities
- Planning and assisting with company events and initiatives
- Writing internal and external communications
- Developing public relations materials (such as newsletters, infographics, videos, etc.)
- Assisting with community and member relations
- Supporting human resource functions as they relate to organization and communication
- Other duties as assigned
Other
- To be considered, an individual MUST be enrolled in a college degree program and will have completed their freshman year of college
- Must be in good academic standing, with at least a 3.0 GPA
- Preferred majors of study include: public relations, marketing, journalism and/or communications
- MUST be available for a 12-week program beginning in Late-May to Mid-August
- Must be able to work in an office environment with limited exposure to the power plant and coal mine
