VELCO is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst Intern to contribute to protecting enterprise systems, networks, and data, ensuring the reliability and affordability of the transmission system.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of networking concepts
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Splunk, Nessus, or similar is a plus.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST
- Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001
- Knowledge of frameworks such as MITRE ATT & CK is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring network and system security alerts using SIEM tools.
- Support vulnerability assessment and patch management activities.
- Participate in security incident investigations and documentation.
- Conduct research on emerging threats, malware trends, and attack techniques.
- Help develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to employee awareness initiatives and phishing simulations.
- Assist with audits, compliance checks, and security reporting.
Other
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
