Lumen is looking to implement its AI governance strategy in alignment with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) and needs support in evaluating AI systems, refining governance policies, and translating complex legal and regulatory requirements into actionable data practices.
Requirements
- Strong interest in AI ethics, governance, and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, MLOps, or LLMOps is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating AI systems for fairness, transparency, and accountability
- Support the drafting and refinement of AI governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Translate legislative and regulatory requirements into operational guidelines
- Collaborate with data privacy and security teams to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Contribute to the implementation of AI governance strategies aligned with NIST AI RMF
- Participate in cross-functional discussions to promote responsible data practices across the organization
Other
- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
- Graduating August 2026 – May 2028
- Preferred fields include but not limited to: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Public Policy, Data Science, Law, Ethics, or a related field
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- US Work Authorization required for this role.
- Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment to the entire 10-week program.
