The Bernard Group's sister company, Smartpress, is looking to disrupt the traditional printing industry by leveraging data to drive business insights and operational efficiency. The company needs to design, develop, and implement data pipelines to transform raw information into actionable insights that support strategic decisions.
Requirements
- have completed at least one computer programming course and understand fundamental programming concepts.
- have a basic or previous understanding of Python (strongly preferred).
- understand relational databases and SQL; familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus.
- have an interest in data engineering, data analytics, and cloud technologies.
- be familiar with or open to learning data visualization tools (such as QuickSight or Tableau).
- have a basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, especially AWS (preferred).
Responsibilities
- design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support business intelligence and operational reporting needs.
- partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand systems, and develop effective data solutions.
- work closely with data analysts to identify data sources, resolve issues, and propose process improvements.
- retrieve, manipulate, and combine structured and unstructured data from multiple systems.
- create and optimize data sets for reporting, analysis, and visualization.
- build dashboards using data visualization tools to deliver clear and actionable insights.
- gain exposure to AWS cloud platforms and related data technologies.

- are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, or another engineering discipline.
- have completed your sophomore year of undergraduate studies.

- This internship in hybrid and requires onsite presence at our Chanhassen, Minnesota location. Relocation assistance, housing, and transportation are not provided. Candidates must reside in or be able to commute locally to the Chanhassen area for the duration of the internship.
