InterDigital is seeking motivated Ph.D. and Master students for internships in Deep Learning for Image and Video Processing to research novel applications of AI and machine learning for video and wireless applications, developing proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and research ideas that integrate machine learning and AI technologies with a wide range of video and wireless technologies.
Requirements
- Strong background in at least one of computer vision, image processing, or video compression.
- Proficient in PyTorch (preferred), TensorFlow, or JAX.
Responsibilities
- Develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and research ideas that integrate machine learning and AI technologies with a wide range of video and wireless technologies.
- Research novel applications of AI and machine learning for video and wireless applications.
- Deep learning-based image and video compression.
- Deep learning-based image and video restoration.
- Compression for multiple computer vision tasks.
- Compression of intermediate feature maps for split inference.
- Distributed real-time video inference resilient to wireless latency, jitter, and bandwidth limits.

- Ph.D. student in Computer Science/Engineering preferred, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or relevant discipline.
