L3Harris is looking for an Intern - Design Engineering to support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with rocket propulsion projects, specifically in mechanical design, CAD modeling, thruster design, and system integration technology.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or similar major)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Coursework in engineering design, structural analysis, computer-aided design
- Experience with development hardware, mechanical assembly, and/or test
- Working knowledge of CAD software tools such as CREO or Solidworks
- Experience with Windchill PLM
Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects
- Support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with our projects
- Operate effectively in a team environment
- Assist with the development of engineering designs used on liquid rocket engine applications
- Conceptual design support, part selection research, and computer-aided design (CAD)
- Data collection, entry-level analysis, and hardware tracking
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and product lifecycle management software tools such as Windchill
