Nordson Medical is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electronics Engineering Intern to assist with sustaining daily operations, root cause analysis, test fixture development, and engineering change order processes within their Interventional Solutions, Fluid Components, and Surgical Solutions divisions.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with circuit board components, testing principles, or troubleshooting basics.
  • Basic understanding of root cause analysis, data analysis, and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); exposure to SolidWorks or CAD is preferred.
  • Prior internship, co-op, or technical project experience in electronics or medical device manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with sustaining daily operations across electronics and electromechanical assemblies, including PCBAs, sensors, and cable harnesses.
  • Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting for production or field return issues alongside engineering mentors.
  • Contribute to test fixture development, calibration activities, and test protocol documentation.
  • Participate in engineering change order (ECO) documentation, test execution, and implementation activities.
  • Help draft or revise work instructions, technical reports, and validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ/PPQ).
  • Perform basic data analysis and report generation using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools.
  • Attend design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and serviceability with support.

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong interest in medical device manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Interest in electronics assembly, sensor technology, and regulated product development.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to follow directions and ask questions.
