The Information Security Intern plays a crucial role in shaping and safeguarding Tenaska's systems and data by gathering requirements, researching, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge information security solutions. The Information Security Intern will be responsible for monitoring threats and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with operating systems, networking concepts, and common security tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring security alerts and reports under supervision.
  • Help with basic configuration and updates of security software tools.
  • Support documentation of security incidents and procedures.
  • Participate in security awareness training and help prepare training materials.
  • Assist in routine vulnerability scans and report findings to senior staff.
  • Shadow team members during assessments to learn about security best practices.
  • Contribute to special projects and research tasks as assigned.

Other

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and interest in learning more.
  • Strong willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and eagerness to contribute.
