Sonoco is seeking a Network Services Intern to support their global network, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to ongoing network projects, aiming to enhance network performance and implement new technologies.
Requirements
- Familiarity with networking technologies such as switches, access points, SD-WAN, and firewalls.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT staff to support the daily operations of the network, troubleshoot issues, and make proactive improvements to enhance network performance.
- Assist in the deployment of new network solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and successful implementation of technology upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of changes, project progress, and technical documentation, ensuring that all files are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Contribute to current network projects, such as refreshing aging network hardware, implementing SD-WAN appliances, and rolling out new wireless SSID standards.
Other
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- This position is primarily remote, but there may be opportunities to work onsite in Hartsville, SC, to contribute to hands-on projects around the campus.
