Alaska Airlines is looking for interns to contribute toward key projects that support their business, community, and cultural growth, by analyzing data, improving processes, and communicating insights to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and methods (Excel, SQL, Python, R, Databricks).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts and workflows for preparing and integrating data.
  • Knowledge of API integrations.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning applications (e.g., natural language processing, predictive analytics, generative AI tools).
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query) for workflow automation and business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Analysis – Extract and analyze data from multiple sources to support operational and strategic projects.
  • Reporting & Visualization – Build and present dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate insights to stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Process Improvement – Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, or enhanced user experience through data and technology.
  • Documentation – Document workflows, findings, processes and recommendations.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Participate in team meetings, share progress updates, and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Other

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
