MAPFRE Insurance is looking to analyze its data to identify improvement areas for the largest personal automobile insurance company in Massachusetts and craft and present recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Strong database skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- SQL experience strongly preferred
- another programming language (e.g. Python, R, Java, etc.) preferred
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
Responsibilities
- analyze MAPFRE’s premium, agency, and claims data to glean meaningful insights and craft ideas to take advantage of those insights.
- identifying an unprofitable driver segment that needs to be addressed
- analyzing insurance agent sales behaviors to identify underserved customer needs
- researching claims cost trends to discover profitability opportunities
Other
- Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program.
- Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Graduate Student (Final Year) – preferred but would be fine with an undergraduate
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Interns must commit to the 10-week program for the summer and participate in planned training and activities.
