GFT is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to the design and development of efficient, innovative building systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability in projects while addressing the unique needs of each facility.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
- Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering careers within the A/E/C industry through applied academic coursework, past internships, or other experiences.
- Basic proficiency with Revit 3D or equivalent.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge or experience in heat transfer and fluid thermodynamics.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on client projects, contributing to design and development processes.
- Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and propose innovative solutions.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and design system layouts (piping, ductwork, etc.), including equipment sizing and coordination of trades.
- Assist in reviewing and modifying designs based on project needs and participate in field survey work as required.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, reports, and technical drawings.

- Must be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Ability to work in a hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.
- Must be available to work from mid-May through mid-August.
