Lumen is looking for a DevOps Engineer Intern to automate manual tasks and develop software to support their Network Transformation team, aiming to improve efficiency and drive technology forward.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python is essential, as it's a primary scripting language for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with other scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell is a bonus.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform,
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain Python scripts to automate telecom-specific tasks such as configuration changes, or data analysis.
- Respond to automation-related issues and provide quick resolutions.
- Collaborate with team members to diagnose and fix problems.
- Contribute to code reviews, and actively participate in group discussions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all scripts, processes, and best practices.
- Dedicate time each day to learning and skill development, staying up-to-date with the latest automation tools, scripting languages, and telecom industry trends.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving automation issues in live environments.
Other
- Intern must be available to work full time (40 hours/week) during the 10-week program.
- Program Dates: May 29 – August 7, 2026.
- This position is fully remote / work from home in the continental US.
- US Work Authorization required for this role.
