This internship focuses on leveraging data science to derive actionable insights from customer behavior, product performance, and market trends within the beauty industry to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data analysis (Python and SQL).
- Pyspark knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau/Power BI and matplotlib)
- Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas)
- Basic understanding of database systems and data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with basic statistical concepts, data mining techniques and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
- Familiarity with API creation and web scraping methodologies
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with data scientists to transform raw data from our e-commerce platform, digital marketing systems, and in-store POS into clean, analysis-ready datasets.
- Assist in data collection and preprocessing tasks, helping to clean and organize datasets from various sources within the beauty retail ecosystem.
- Help create and update dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to visualize key metrics for stakeholders.
- Contribute to the testing and validation of machine learning models, ensuring their accuracy and reliability before deployment.
- Collaborate with team members to conduct basic exploratory data analysis, uncovering initial insights about customer preferences and product trends.
- Assist in preparing data for analysis by performing tasks such as data aggregation, feature engineering, and format standardization.

- Must permanently reside and work in the U.S.
- Must be open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area upon graduation for consideration for full-time hybrid positions
