MAPFRE Insurance is seeking to modernize its Insurance policy systems, including the Guidewire Insurance suite, by migrating to the cloud and leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AWS cloud services and AI-driven automation.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Graduate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, API Gateway) is a plus.
- Interest in AI/ML, cloud computing, and enterprise software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, Postman).
- Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices.
Responsibilities
- Be a core member of an Agile Scrum team with other software engineers and technical product managers.
- Contribute code to GitHub. Learn how to leverage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments through various environments.
- Work with our business partners and product owners to understand the business requirements and then work with the team to develop solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineers to design and implement AI powered automated testing frameworks for Guidewire Policy Center and other Policy systems at MAPFRE.
- Explore and prototype testing tools to enhance coverage and efficiency in rating and pricing validation and vendor integrations of 3rd party data.
- Assist in the development of new applications within AWS which will be leveraged by Operations, Underwriting and/or Policy Servicing.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and team brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and learn best practices.

- Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program.
- Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Commit to the 10-week program for the summer and participate in planned training and activities.
- Participate as a team in a Day of Caring community service project.
- Present your code and solutions during sprint demos / reviews every 2 weeks.
