At Smith+Nephew, the business problem is to design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living, and the Robotics Software Engineering Intern will work with the Robotics New Product Development team to develop next generation products in the field of surgical robotics.
Requirements
- Knowledge of C++ and other object-oriented languages is preferred
- Ability to describe design using UML is preferred
Responsibilities
- Work closely with managers to complete specifically identified internship projects
- Participating in the entire software development life-cycle which includes reviewing requirements, doing design, implementing the design, unit testing and integration testing
- Create documentation as required by the Smith and Nephew Robotics Quality Management System
- Present project conclusion to senior leadership

- Current student of bachelor, master, or phd majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or similar field of study
- Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.0 minimum GPA preferred
- Previous applicable intern, co-op, part-time or apprenticeship experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills including technical writing, listening and speaking; ability to influence others
