- Java coding skills
- Experience with JIRA
- Containerization tools (docker/kubernetes/linux namespaces/etc.)
- Light (*nix) system admin
- IP networking knowledge

- Process management (spawning/monitoring/terminating/etc.)
- Scripting (bash/perl/python/javascript/etc.)
Responsibilities
- Replicating existing NISWS operations and oversight
- Upgrading spring boot to 3.5
- Upgrading java to 21 or 17 instead of 8
- Add DNS CRUD operations to Oversight
- Investigate Oversight porting to CSTS instead of Incognito
- Perform background availability checks and determine whether to automatically online/offline nodes based on environmental conditions and thresholds
- Provide a maintainable instance on nameserver software for both recursive caching “resolvers” and “authoritative” configurations

- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
- Graduating August 2026 – May 2028
- US Work Authorization required for this role
- Available to work full time (40 hours/week) during the 10-week program
