Nelnet is looking to improve the security posture of its development process and ensure all systems meet or exceed industry security standards by implementing the Nelnet Application Security Program.
Requirements
- Experience with the software build process and CI/CD.
- Interest in cloud environment such as AWS.
- Experience running open source scanning tools.
Responsibilities
- Assist with real projects within Nelnet’s Application Security Team.
- Further develop skills under mentorship of the Team’s professionals.
- Implement the Nelnet Application Security Program.
- Improve the security posture of our development process.
- Coach development teams on application security topics.

- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
- Pursuing a degree or interest in Cybersecurity.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in an agile development environment and understands on time/within-budget principles.

- Must complete United States Government security clearance.
