US Foods is looking for interns to gain business knowledge and practical application of web and application development within the food distribution industry. The goal is to create an outstanding experience for users while leveraging the latest technologies.

Requirements

  • Coursework or skill in object-oriented programming
  • Coursework or skill in Java development
  • Database server development experience
  • Web application development experience OR hands-on website development experience
  • Experience integrating front-end templates with back-end functionality
  • Experience with front-end web development languages
  • Coursework or experience with: Requirements gathering, design, implementation, integration and testing; developing database driven sites

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in project ideation - from concept to delivery
  • Gather information from existing systems, analyze program and time requirements
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded
  • Develop moderately complex programs
  • Ensure programs meet standards and technical specifications
  • Develop test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs
  • Create documentation of work assignments such as program code and technical documentation

Other

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Science or related area of study
  • Must be enrolled in school during time of internship
  • Typically, students currently between their Junior and Senior years or between their 1st and 2nd years of graduate school will be considered for internships
  • Must have regular, reliable method of transportation to commute to US Foods’ location.
