WGU is looking to expand access to higher education through online, competency-based degree programs and needs a skilled professional to assist in maintaining and updating departmental databases, developing software applications, and providing technical support.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of databases, spreadsheets, and office productivity tools (e.g., Excel formulas, Google Forms, SharePoint)
- Familiarity with help desk, ticketing systems, or cloud-based tools is a plus
- Good foundation in Java programming and understanding of object-oriented principles.
- Exposure to front-end development with Angular (or similar JavaScript frameworks).
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native concepts.
- Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Comfortable learning and using new systems and applications
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and updating departmental databases, spreadsheets, and content management systems
- Assist in developing and testing software applications using Java and Angular frameworks.
- Contribute to building and deploying applications on AWS cloud services
- Support the implementation and troubleshooting of office technology, software applications, and digital tools
- Help create and update technical documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures
- Perform data entry, validation, cleanup, and basic reporting using Excel, Google Sheets, or database tools
- Aid in system testing, form development, and workflow automation projects using platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or institution-specific tools
Other
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship during the internship period.
- Must be in good academic standing with an expected graduation date.
