Sandia National Laboratories is seeking to develop its future workforce by providing undergraduate students with practical experience in a research environment, working on cutting-edge projects that address national security challenges.
Requirements
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
- Assist in the development and implementation of technology solutions for research projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support experimental design and data collection.
- Utilize technical skills to analyze data and troubleshoot equipment or software issues.
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and reports.
- Participate in team meetings and present findings to team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Setup and implement experiments, simulations, or tests.
- Analyze complex data sets and interpret results to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative approaches to research challenges.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate research findings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of technology solutions for research projects.
- Utilize technical skills to analyze data and troubleshoot equipment or software issues.

- Must attend the NCAT Fall 2025 Career Week event
- Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related undergraduate program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
