Design and deploy specialized development equipment for cutting-edge vehicle battery products
Requirements
- Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred, CATIA, AutoCAD, 3DX)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience in machining & fabrication
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in Malab, Python, CFD Packages, Structural FEA packages, statistical analysis (JMP, Minitab)
- Familiarity with international technical standards for machine design, equipment safety standards and practices (ANSI, NFPA, LOTO, OSHA)
- Basic knowledge of Lithium-ion battery cell and battery design
Responsibilities
- Design equipment for 4680 form factor battery cells
- Develop and test processes for cell manufacturing
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues affecting production and quality targets
- Support and troubleshoot new and existing mechanical designs
- Prepare 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, mechanical BOMs, safety documentation and various parts lists
- Support mechanical builds, proof of principle assemblies and production machinery
Other
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- International Students: work authorization through CPT, ability to work 40 hours per week on-site
- Expected to work for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, travel to suppliers in different regions, make on-the-spot critical decisions
