3M is looking for interns to develop and implement creative and innovative package solutions across all business groups, support the modification and improvement of existing package designs, and optimize the packaging implementation and optimization process.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in in Package Engineering, Packaging Science, or Supply Chain from an accredited institution
- Completion of Package Materials and Package Design & Development curriculum
- Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Previous experience in the packaging industry
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing creative and innovative package solutions that span across all three business groups in collaboration with cross-functional team members
- Supporting the modification and improvement of existing package designs, methods and/or solutions
- Performing and coordinating package testing according to established protocols
- Working with suppliers of packaging materials and/or contract packaging vendors to obtain price/cost estimates, sample/material needs, and design requirements
- Creating, maintaining, obtaining, and analyzing packaging data that enables improvements in the packaging implementation and optimization process
Other
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Completed at a minimum of sophomore year (4 semesters) by the start of the internship
- Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
- All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M.
