Zebra Technologies is looking to develop a Bluetooth Gateway for Ring Scanners to enable efficient management of multiple ring scanners through a single gateway, reducing dependency on individual host devices and simplifying fleet management for enterprises.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building an intuitive and responsive user interface
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks or libraries like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js to create dynamic and scalable web applications
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python (e.g., Flask/Django), Ruby on Rails, or Java (Spring Boot) for building server-side logic
- Experience with developing and consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs to communicate with the Bluetooth Gateway and manage connected devices
- Experience with databases (e.g., SQL-based systems like MySQL/PostgreSQL or NoSQL systems like MongoDB) to store and manage configuration settings, logs, and device data
- Knowledge of real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets or MQTT for live device monitoring and management
- Understanding of IoT-specific concepts, such as device provisioning, remote configuration, and firmware updates
Responsibilities
- Build a centralized Bluetooth Gateway device to allow ring scanners to connect and communicate seamlessly
- Enable management of multiple ring scanners through a single gateway, reducing dependency on individual host devices (e.g., tablets or smartphones)
- Design and develop the gateway hardware with a robust Bluetooth module to handle multiple connections
- Develop firmware to support Bluetooth profiles (SPP, BLE) for seamless communication between the gateway and ring scanners
- Ensure compatibility with existing ring scanner firmware and embedded operating systems
- Create a user-friendly configuration interface for administrators to set up and manage the gateway
- Implement over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates for ring scanners and the gateway itself, ensuring devices remain up-to-date
